DESCRIPTION -
Vada pav is a Marathi dish. It is very famous street food with potato vada placed between sliced pavs.
INGREDIENTS -
FOR BETTER -
- 1 Cup Chickpeas flour ( Besan )
- Pinch of Asafetida ( Hing )
- 1/2 Tsp Turmeric ( Haldi )
- Salt to taste
FOR FILLING -
- 4-5 pieces of pav
- 2 Medium size boiled potatoes
- 3-4 Green chilies
- 1 Tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1/2 Tsp Cumin ( Jeera )
- Pinch of turmeric ( Haldi )
- Crushed black paper and Cloves ( Kali Mirch and long )
- 1/2 Tsp Fennel Seeds ( Sounf )
- Chopped Coriander leaves ( Dhaniya )
SERVING -
- Butter
- Garlic Chatni
- Fried Green chilies
- Green Chatni
RECIPE-
Better -
Take a bowl and add chickpeas flour, asafetida, turmeric and salt. Add some water and make a smooth better.
Filling -
Take a frying pan with some oil and put it on the flame. Mash 2 potatoes and put them in a bowl. Add all the masalas ( Shown above for filling ) In the bowl and mix them with potatoes nicely. Make the small balls and dip them in better. Fry them until they turn as golden and the vada is ready.
Put a Griddle ( Tava ) on the burner and add butter and garlic chatni on it. Mix the butter and garlic chatni on tava. Take one piece of pav and slice it from middle. Spread the mixture of butter and garlic chatni on pav. Toast the pav for 1-2 Minutes and place the vada ( Potato Balls ) between two pieces of pav. serve it with green chatni and green chilies.
